Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs design and implementation of chemical processes, instrumentation and equipment.

Master Scheduler
This position is responsible to plan and schedule all finish goods in HPLC. Excellent computer skills are required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan & prepare HPLC production schedules for all HPLC products, including Security Guard.
- Schedule individual work stations using specified phases of material,column size and EOQ when possible.
- Work with all Lab Techs to achieve individual & team goals; passing rates and number of columns packed.
- Gather information from all aspects of Production/QC, determine proper methods & procedures with the most efficient and cost effective way.
- Ensure all failed columns are rescheduled as soon as possible.

Quality Engineer – Media Manufacturing
General Description
The Quality Engineer at our Phenomenex Headquarters, Torrance, CA works closely with our Chemical Engineers and R&D scientists to improve in-process measurement and control of chemical and mechanical manufacturing systems. Another important responsibility of this position is to work with the Quality Management team to continually improve quality, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001-2008.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use statistical process control to identify and implement key process metrics and KPI’s
- Ensure traceability, review and approve batch records prior to release
- Create and update manufacturing and quality control procedures, work instructions and batch records
- Assist in the manufacturing operation in problem solving with regards to equipment and systems.
- Develop and recommend new process equipment and work flows to improve quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
- Implement preventative maintenance and calibration programs for manufacturing equipment and in-process test systems.
Knowledge and experience:

Senior Machinist
Key Accountabilities:
- Produce precision parts and assemblies; determine tolerance calculations and supporting data when necessary.
- Trouble shoots and adjusts set-ups as necessary, document changes per procedure.

Job Purpose

- Pack completed tubes into kits, including labeling and literature.

General Summary
The position of Research Scientist I is responsible for working with the Marketing and Sales teams to develop new chromatographic solutions that highlight Phenomenex products in strategically important industries and/or application areas. This may also involve working directly with the customer to identify the needs of the proposed solution and ultimately helping implement that solution in their lab.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in analytical methods and problem solving within rapidly growing and/or relevant strategic areas of separation science.
- Conceive, design and develop novel separation solutions for strategically important methods and/or industries.

Research Scientist I, Oligonucleotide Separations
The role of the Research Scientist I, Oligonucleotide Separations will be to work with R&D and Marketing teams to understand the problems facing customers in the fields of synthetic oligonucleotide synthesis and purification, oligonucleotide therapeutics, and related fields, looking for opportunities for providing innovative products and solutions. General Description
The position of Research Scientist is responsible for working with the R&D team to develop, enhance and investigate new separation products and technology. This includes developing new GC separation science consumables as well as taking sole responsibility for developing new analytical techniques used to create or improve products and technology. This role will also include support of new products through application and applied technology work in order to produce literature, seminars, publications and training.
Job and Responsibilities
General Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conceive, design, develop and evaluate novel, efficient, reproducible, marketable and “scaleable” consumable technologies for the separation sciences, in line with company goals.
- Research and Develop novel chemistries, coatings, polymers and processes that meet corporate needs.
- Effectively lead research projects within R&D, including proper planning, resource allocation, control and completion.

We are currently looking for a Senior Research Scientist to lead Sample Prep/SPE product development initiatives. Maintain and manage specific territory by meeting and exceeding sales, gross profit and unit goals. Provide service and technical support to customers on a regular and ongoing basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Originate phone calls, respond to incoming calls and provide technical information with regards to chromatography related products and services
- Ensure that assigned territory meets sales, gross profit, and unit goals
- Develop relationships with new and existing customers
- Develop business plans, market analysis, and sales strategies for assigned territory
- Consistently maintain a positive attitude, be a team player, and strive to learn and contribute to company culture
- Complete assigned learning plan
- Manage and maintain information in customer database system
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by customers and/or management
Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Life Science required
- Requires analytical thinking and presenting ideas
- Experience in Microsoft office and Database Management
- Able to perform basic mathematical equations and formulas
- Extremely skilled in the art of negotiation
- Strong organizational skill, plans and assign resources in a detailed fashion
Other Relevant Information
- Previous sales and/or laboratory experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Minimum three (3) months tenure with Phenomenex
- Receive recommendation from Sales Training Specialist and either National Sales Manager or Vice President of Sales
- Complete required learning plan
