How can running a reversed phase method at high pH be advantageous?

GEMINI HPLC UHPLC REVERSED PHASE

Buffering a mobile phase 2 pH units above the pKb of a basic compound allows it to be analyzed as a neutral species. This allows the compound to interact more fully with a non-polar stationary phase, enhancing retention.

Additionally, as the base is deprotonated, secondary ion exchange interactions cannot occur. This will reduce peak tailing.

Gemini and Gemini-NX are stable up to pH 12 and are good options for high pH reversed phase method development.
