Sample Preparation:
1. Weigh out 25 mg of oil into a 5 mL screw cap glass vial
2. Add 2 mL of BF3-methanol to sample vial
3. Heat vial at 60 °C for 15 minutes with periodic vortexing
4. Remove from heat and allow to attain room temperature
5. Add 1 mL water followed by 1 mL hexane
6. Vortex for 1 minute
7. Remove upper organic layer
8. Dry hexane layer over anhydrous sodium sulfate
9. Transfer to autosampler vial and inject on GC |
