Sample Preparation Details
Pretreatment Note
After the elution step, there will be two phases present, and organic and an aqueous. Using a pasture pipet, extract the bottom layer and transport it to a new test tube and blowdown the effluent to dryness. Each sample is carefully dried to dryness, and stopped quickly to prevent loss of more volitile PAH from evaporating. Evaporation was carried out @ 45C water bath with Nitrogen blowing down on the samples. The ISS was spiked in to the final sample right before blowdown.
