Event to be Held December 4th and 5th at Phenomenex Headquarters.
Torrance, CA (November 9, 2007) – Phenomenex Inc., a leading worldwide manufacturer of separation science consumables, announced today that it will host a two-part workshop on GC testing for residual solvents. The event includes a comprehensive USP (United States Pharmacopeia) course on methods development for its General Chapter <467> on Residual Solvents and complementary instruction from Phenomenex specialists on advanced GC approaches to testing for residual solvents.
The workshop, “Laboratory Practicum for Chapter <467> Residual Solvents: A Practical Guide to Implementing the Revised Method, will be held at Phenomenex headquarters in Torrance, California, on December 4th and 5th and participants may register online at: www.usp.org/goto/Chapter467lab.
Implementation of the new USP requirements on testing for residual solvents in drug substances, products, and excipients goes into effect on July 1, 2008. USP General Chapter <467>, designed to harmonize with the International Conference for Harmonization (ICH), significantly increases the number of solvents for which a company must screen and outlines three testing procedures. Ultimately, methods must be revalidated for all drugs currently on the market to meet the new standards.
“This new chapter is far-reaching and involves implementing a number of new GC methods,” explained Sky Countryman, Product Manager for Phenomenex. “USP is committed to educating labs on the changes and their implementation. Phenomenex is proud to provide support for their efforts, through the workshop sponsorship as well as through the participation of our own expert instructors.”
The registration fee for the two-day event is US $995,
