Luna HILIC Chromatography Columns Deliver Fast, Accurate Solution for LC-MS Analysis of Polar Metabolites
Torrance, CA (September 17, 2007) – Phenomenex Inc., a leading worldwide manufacturer of separation science consumables, introduces a new line of Luna® HILIC (hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography) columns for the analysis of polar metabolites in drug discovery and development. The columns deliver superior retention of polar compounds, increase MS (mass spectrometry) sensitivity, and increase laboratory throughput and productivity.
These unique new columns retain a water-enriched layer on the surface of the silica that facilitates the transfer of polar compounds into the stationary phase for increased retention. Phenomenex’s unique cross-linked diol bonded phase delivers more reproducible HILIC separations.
“Low-level polar metabolites and impurities have historically slowed development and negatively impacted mass spec sensitivity,” commented Terrell Mathews, brand manager for Phenomenex. “These new Luna HILIC columns together with our systematic method development approach offer significant advancements in the separation, quantitation and qualification of difficult to retain polar compounds. The phase selectivity spans an area that has always been a problem for reversed phase methods.”
The new Luna HILIC columns are available packed with 3 or 5 µm particles and are offered in 14 different dimensions.
